Description of setting

A cluster of old buildings gathered at the port to send away the new ships that were about to take on the voyage of their lives. It was never pleasant to part away with friends you have just met. Tears seemed to stream down the windows of the buildings, as the bade each other farewell. The ships cruised down the calm blue water that were embracing the port. However, some ships could not bear to part with their sobbing friends, decided to stay for a little longer, and to have a nice chat with the buildings. A tall and lonely yellow building towered above most buildings, looking out to the sea, hoping that he will one day, find a friend. A green handsome boat was flirting with a blue gorgeous boat, while little boats chit-chatted with each other beside them. The port was a very bustling place full of life, do come and visit someday!

Comic on Jim Crow Laws

This comic shows the overthrowing of Jim Crow laws as they were still disadvantageous to the black people. Although they are equal, they are separated from each other which means they eat in different restaurants and relax in different leisure centres. I feel that both white and black people should be able to live in harmony

Blog Prompt 2

I had been unkind to a classmate from 1i2 last year. In fact, I believe our whole class did. To protect the classmate, I would not disclose his name. The guy was different. He acted much like a child, compared to us. He is always running about in the class, mimicking a sniper holding a rifle. He also rolled about in the class making noises that sounded like guns reloading. He is also very sleepy and blur. He was once very late for school ( about 9+am), because he took 857 instead of 852. He also missed the IDS trip because he could not get out of bed after playing computer overnight( what he does most of the time!). He always fall asleep in class and never hands in his homework on time. We teases him most of the time and also disturb him by making funny names and ask him to do our "dirty jobs". I had once found i funny to see his reactions whenever we teases him. But now, I feel a bit guilty to how I had treated him in the past.

Blog Prompt 1

Wind and window flower by Robert Frost

Lover's forget ur love
and listen to the love of these
she a window Flower,
and he a Winter breeze

when the frosty window
was melted down at noon
and the caged yellow bird
hung over her in tune

he marked her through the pane
he could not help but mark
and only passed her by
to come again at dark

he was a winter wind
concerned with ice and snow
dead weeds and unmated birds
and litle of love could know

but he sighed upon the sill
he gave the sash a shake
as witness all within
who lay that night awake

perchance he half prevailed
to win her for the flight
from the firelit looking glass
and warm stove window light

but the flower leaned aside
and thought of naught to sasy
and morning found the breeze
a hundred miles away

It showed that the window flower did not take notice of poor wind. I pitied the winter wind as his love for the window flower was not taken to any notice and he must have left feeling resigned and very sad. I learnt to be more aware of others' feelings and to be more sensitive with people around me. We will never know if we had hurt a person's feelings deeply.

KWL for 12/1 (Prejudice)

K> Prejudice=Discrimination of certain race, gender, sex and religion

W> I want to learn more examples and facts about prejudice that humans had been facing and " applying" since the beginning of time

L> I managed to learn more facts, examples and also managed to widen my point of view by listening to my team mates and through a mind mapping session with them. I believe thatthis will enable us to study To Kill A Mockingbird more smoothly.
